Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach 2019 Auction Recap

"Marilyn," the stunning 1947 Buick Super 8 Convertible Coupe driving onto the auction block. She was the top seller at Barrett-Jackson's Palm Beach 2019 auction, garnering a winning bid of $412,500 (including buyer's premium).

After three action-packed days from Thursday, April 11th to Saturday the 13th, Barrett-Jackson once again proved why it is likely the world’s most famous collector-car auction company, selling 632 vehicles for over $30.18 million. Perhaps what is more noteworthy is Barrett-Jackson’s stunning 98.9 percent sell-through rate for vehicles. In addition, 258 pieces of automobilia (collectibles and memorabilia) were sold for nearly $500,000 and three charity vehicles garnered $550,000, bringing total sales for the three-day extravaganza to $31.2 million.

Wild resto-mods continued to be strong sellers at Palm Beach, as were today’s exotic supercars. Performance cars from the 1980s and 1990s also did very well, clearly reflecting demographic shifts in the marketplace. While Barrett-Jackson’s Palm Beach auction attracted a record number of vehicle consignments – 632, quality of vehicles was strong, once again proving that top quality brings top dollar. As not only an auction but more an automotive lifestyle event, Barrett-Jackson drew nearly 1,500 registered bidders and thousands of spectators.
