As a hard-core follower of collector-car auctions, I am amazed at how many great events are held by lesser-known or regional players that have nonetheless carved out strong niches in their respective markets. Such auction companies truly warrant interest from serious buyers and sellers. One such collector-car auction company is Premier Auction Group of Port Charlotte, Florida, which holds The Gulf Coast Classic each spring and fall in Punta Gorda, Florida.

Premier’s company principals are a highly seasoned team – comprising Brian Marshall, Kenny Garman, and my friend and colleague, Julie Zimmerman, who knows more about how to make an auction work smoothly – before, during, and after the event – than anyone else I’ve known in the business. Chris Neuhouser is their Consignment Specialist.

Premier’s focus on its core market and customer base is commendable, with the small company doing what it does best – producing interesting and successful, high-quality auctions in the collector-car-rich Florida Gulf Coast area. Literally, something of interest for virtually every buyer type is offered by Premier, ranging from grand prewar classics to ‘50s cruisers, ‘60s muscle cars, resto-mods, European sports, and modern supercars. In addition, Premier offers a wide variety of collectibles, memorabilia, and petroliana to complete your rec room or garage décor.

Taking place this weekend, March 15-16, with some 400 collector cars on the docket, The Gulf Coast Classic is being held at the Charlotte Harbor Event Center, 75 Taylor Street, Punta Gorda, Florida.
